Things To Do When You're Feeling a Bit Sad

It’s currently 2am whilst I’m writing this. I can’t sleep. My brain is overthinking once again and I’m feeling quite anxious. My life isn’t perfect. I always seem to be very happy and bubbly around others and I may come across as happy in my posts or on social media but I have my crap days just like everyone else. Every day may not always be the best day, but only we have the power to turn that around and make ourselves feel just a little bit better. Here are some things to do when you’re feeling a bit down in the dumps…
  • ·         Eat chocolate. Lots of it. It helps.
  • ·         Put your headphones in, turn on your favourite songs and blast them into your ears as loud as you can possibly take it.
  • ·         Sing and dance your heart out.
  • ·         Hang out with your best friend.
  • ·         Write a list of all the things that you appreciate in your life.
  • ·         Order a dominos (Always a good one)
  • ·         Binge watch some of your favourite TV shows.
  • ·         Pamper yourself. Take a long hot bubble bath, give yourself a scalp massage, pop on a face mask and indulge in a good book.
  • ·         Go on a walk.
  • ·         Bake something! Find a new recipe or use one you already know.
  • ·         Organise your makeup or wardrobe. It keeps your mind busy.
  • ·         Cry. Sometimes all you really need to do is just cry. Let it all out.
  • ·         Take a nap. Try sleeping it off.
  • ·         Scroll through Pinterest.
  • ·         Drink lots of tea.
  • ·         Write down and identify all of your negative thoughts.
  • ·         Doodle, draw, paint or make something.
  • ·         Spend some time with your pet. They really do make you feel better.
  • ·         Paint your nails.
  • ·         Try doing some yoga and meditation.
  • ·         Experiment with makeup.
  • ·         Do some online shopping.
  • ·         Watch your favourite Disney movie.
  • ·         Scream into your pillow. I’ve done this multiple times.
  • ·         Learn a new skill.
  • ·         Build a blanket fort and call a friend round to hangout.
  • ·         Start a new journal.
  • ·         Make a list of things you want to accomplish.
  • ·         Cuddle someone. Cuddles are the best!
  • ·         Pick up the phone and call someone.
  • ·         Enjoy your favourite comfort food.
  • ·         Go for a run or go to the gym.
  • ·         Light some candles, pop open that prosecco and just have a relaxing, quiet night in.
  • ·         Try to remember that everything will be okay. It will get better.

These are just some of the things that I love to do on days like this. Hopefully they’ll work for you too. What things do you like doing when you’re feeling a bit down?
