"A" Is For Autumn

Autumn is here guys. It’s mine and many other’s favourite time of the year. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the summer days however I appreciate a cosy night in a lot more. Yay to September currently being here and an even bigger YAY to October which is just around the corner and I’m slightly (by that I mean VERY) excited about it.

Here’s a few reasons as to why we should all be pretty damn excited about autumn this year…

1.      Those loose, knitted jumpers that are just the most comfy items of clothing to wear on the colder days. Especially the oversized jumpers that can be worn over leggings or tucked into some mom jeans. Yes please.

2.      The candles that smell of pumpkins or sugar donuts just never get old. I would happily have these scents around my bedroom all year round but I feel like they are a bit more special around this time of year. If only we had a Bath and Body Works in the UK I’d be buying all the autumn candles and my bank balance would probably hate me.

3.      Slouching around the house in fluffy pyjamas or a onesie as soon as you get home from work whilst drinking endless amounts of tea.

4.      Speaking of hot drinks. Hot chocolates with whipped cream and marshmallows.

5.      I will forever love dark lipsticks however I love them just that little bit more during autumn. Give me all the plums and browns and I’ll be happy.

6.      Blankets. I will never get enough of blankets. Tartan patterned blankets though are just on another level. Who doesn’t love snuggling up in blankets?

7.      One word, Halloween. It’s one of my favourite days. I love carving pumpkins and I love visiting a scare festival each year. Can we also talk about Bonfire Night? Fireworks are so pretty to watch.

8.      For those that are hard-core Netflix watchers like myself you’ll know that Riverdale Season 2 airs in October and I’m over the moon about it! It feels like I’ve been waiting ages for this new season, I just want jughead back on my screen please and thank you.

9.      I’m not sure what it is about autumn that makes me want to bake anything and everything. It could be a mixture of the Great British Bake Off and the fact that I just love food in general, but I’m always wanting to bake. Kind of fancy an apple crumble now…

10.  Saying hello to my electric blanket which always makes an appearance around this time of the year.

11.  Give me all the comfort food. Steak, pies and mash. Also is it too early to start eating mince pies? I think not.

12.  Getting ready for the lead up to Christmas! How exciting knowing that now we’re in autumn, Christmas is just around the corner.
